SS&C’s Innovation Challenge is Back for its 10th Year!

In a recent blog post, SS&C’s Joe Sinkevich wrote, “Innovation is the lifeblood of any organization, driving growth, competitiveness, and adaptability in an ever-evolving business landscape.”

This is something SS&C knows well.

To help drive our culture of innovation, each year, SS&C hosts an Innovation Challenge.

What is the Innovation Challenge?

In this annual competition, employees self-assemble around an idea and collaborate intensely over two days, creatively tackling any market problem or project that interests them. The goal of this collaboration is to produce real-world solutions, which are then evaluated based on degree of technological innovation, practical value to clients or internal processes, and completeness.

Over the years, the competition has inspired countless new solutions and advancements, many borne out of challenges clients were facing.

Past entries to the Innovation Challenge have ranged from portfolio visualizers and embedded trading insights to chatbots, tradebots, voice-assisted automation, and beyond!

Collaboration Ignites Innovation and a Fresh Perspective

The Challenge not only inspires a number of new technical solutions but also personally inspires participants. Giving employees the opportunity to step away from their day-to-day and immerse themselves in something exciting and new allows them to come away from the Challenge with renewed energy and a fresh perspective on their work.

The relationships and camaraderie built throughout the Challenge are also revitalizing. As they collaborate and engage in a bit of healthy competition, participants share their experiences and expertise. Individuals who may typically work on different solutions or in different locations knowledge-share throughout the process, eventually walking away from the competition with new ideas they can apply in their day-to-day.

SS&C’s Innovation Challenge: A Decade of Global Innovation

Last year, talented teams from across four regions came together to form 60 Innovation Challenge teams.

Now back for its 10th year, the much-anticipated event is ripe with competitors from across the globe, many of whom make up the teams that work on SS&C’s industry-leading financial solutions.

Each year’s challenge is unique and exciting: From guest judges and showcasing the power of diversity, to bonus prizes and fostering new working relationships across SS&C. We can’t wait to see what this year’s competition has to offer, and we will be following along to see which project will take home the gold.

Best of luck to all of the participants!
